Best Project Awards (Building/Infrastructure)

Best Project Award recognises outstanding construction projects that demonstrate excellence in planning, execution, innovation, and overall project delivery.

This award honours project teams that have successfully delivered high-quality projects while upholding strong standards of safety, sustainability, and technical performance.

Through this category, CIDB aims to recognise projects that set benchmarks for the Malaysian construction industry through effective collaboration, innovative solutions, and positive impact on the built environment and surrounding communities.

This category is divided into building and infrastructure comprising small, medium and major projects as follows:

  • Small: Contract value less than RM50 million.
  • Medium: Contract value more than RM50 million up to RM200 million.
  • Major: Contract value more than RM200 million.
Evaluation Criteria

Entries will be assessed by an independent panel of judges based on the following areas:

  1. Project Planning and Management
    Effectiveness of project planning, coordination, and management throughout the project lifecycle.
  2. Technical Excellence and Construction Quality
    Quality of construction, engineering solutions, and overall technical performance.
  3. Innovation and Best Practices
    Adoption of innovative construction methods, digital technologies, or sustainable construction practices.
  4. Safety and Environmental Management
    Commitment to safety performance and responsible environmental management.
  5. Project Impact and Value
    Contribution of the project to the client, users, community, and the built environment.
Participation Criteria
  1. This category is open to construction projects completed in Malaysia.
  2. Projects must have obtained Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC), Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), or equivalent certification between 01 January 2021 and 31 December 2025.
  3. Projects which have previously won in past MCIEAs are not eligible for submission in MCIEA 2026.
  4. Each contractor, client or project team may submit as many projects within the eligibility period.
