International Achievement Award

International Achievement Award recognises Malaysian contractors who have successfully delivered construction projects outside Malaysia and demonstrated excellence in project execution, technical capability, and global competitiveness.

This award celebrates Malaysian construction companies that have expanded their expertise beyond national borders and contributed to enhancing the reputation of the Malaysian construction industry at the international level.

Through this category, CIDB aims to acknowledge contractors who demonstrate strong leadership, innovation, and professionalism in delivering projects in international markets.

Evaluation Criteria
  1. International Project Delivery
    Successful delivery of construction projects outside Malaysia, including project complexity, scale, and execution.
  2. Technical Excellence and Quality
    Demonstrated technical capability and construction quality in international projects.
  3. Innovation and Best Practices
    Adoption of innovative construction methods, technologies, sustainability management practices.
  4. Global Competitiveness and Industry Impact
    Contribution to enhancing the reputation and competitiveness of Malaysian contractors in international markets. The ability to project excellent image for Malaysia in terms of project management, timeliness in completing project, host country perception, corporate social responsibilities (CSR).
  5. Overcoming Challenges
    Ability of company to overcome international construction challenges such as market difficulty, degree of complexity, cultural barriers, different style of management, innovative, technology transfer, securing financial funding and any operational practice that are related to the industry.
Participation Criteria
  1. This category is open to contractors with valid CIDB registration.
  2. Contractor participating in this category shall have one or more completed international projects with project value of RM30 million and above.
  3. The projects must have obtained Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC), Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), or equivalent certification between 01 January 2021 and 31 December 2025.
  4. Percentage of equity for Malaysian contractor at least 30% for joint venture company.
  5. Recipients of the International Achievement Award MCIEA from the previous year are eligible to participate in the MCIEA in the following year in the same category, provided they do not submit the same project that earned them the award (they must submit a different project).
  6. Contractors may submit at least ONE (1) project completed within the eligibility period.
