Builder of the Year Award

The Builder of the Year Award recognises outstanding Malaysian Grade G7 contractors who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical excellence, and professionalism in delivering major construction projects.

This award honours contractors who set the benchmark for the industry through strong organisational capability, innovative project delivery, and a commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and sustainability.

Through this category, CIDB aims to recognise contractors whose achievements contribute significantly to the advancement of Malaysia’s construction industry and who exemplify excellence in managing complex projects and delivering value to clients and communities.

Evaluation Criteria
  1. Corporate Leadership and Company Performance
    Vision, leadership, organisational capability, and overall company performance.
  2. Technical Excellence and Project Delivery
    Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver complex projects with high standards of quality and efficiency.
  3. Innovation and Industry Advancement
    Adoption of innovative construction methods, digital technologies, and sustainable practices.
  4. Contribution to the Industry and Community
    Efforts in developing talent, promoting best practices, and contributing to the advancement of the construction industry.
Participation Criteria
  1. This category is open to Malaysian G7 contractors who have a valid registration with CIDB.
  2. Contractors participating in this category shall have one or more completed projects and have obtained a Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC), Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), or any equivalent certifications between 01 January 2021 to 31 December 2025.
  3. Recipients of the Builder of the Year Award MCIEA from the previous year are eligible to participate in the MCIEA in the following year in the same category, provided they do not submit the same project that earned them the award (they must submit a different project).
  4. Contractors may submit up to THREE (3) projects completed within the eligibility period.
